THE CAST OF 'DON GIOVANNI'

Here are some photos that I took at the dress rehearsals (mostly from the first dress rehearsal)

Here is Don Ottavio (David Loxham) trying to console Donna Anna (Penny Fletcher) follwing the killing of her father.

Here is Don Giovanni A (David Rose) taking me aside.
Here's Donna Elvira (Elaine Watts) wondering where her mischievous hasband has got to.

Here I have to taks of infroming her about his bad deeds.
So I take out the book.

Here's Masetto (Stephen Roe) siniging about his forthcoming marriage (and looking a little camp).
Here Don Giovanni is telling me off for trying to do the thing that he does.

Masetto is reluctant to come away with me.
He's trying his luck with Zerlina (Adrienne Walters).
Don Giovanni is pointing towards his estate.

The girls in the pink dresses are 'the demons' (in this picture are Deborah Feldman, Helen Shpeherd and Jenny Lucas).
It seems to have worked.

But then his 'amusement' is interrupted.
DG is mometarily relived that Anna does necognise him as being the killer

But then that changes!
Giovanni twarts one of my attempts to desert him, and isn't ruffled by Elvira divulging his secrets.

'He didn't touch the tips of my finger' she says.
Giovanni is about to put on another of his big parties.

(The two servants with the trays are Tony Dutton and Celeste Handford)

He invites them both to the dance. Masetto does not look keen.
The maskers prepare themselves to find out the truth.

In order to distract Masetto, I offer myself as a dance partner.
A little persuasion is required.

The maskers look on keenly as Giovanni tries to make it look as though it was who has just tried to ravish Zerlina. They do not believe him!
He does the voice, I do the actions.

We can see the fourth demon in this picture (Emma Berge).

Now I really do have to imitate his voice, and try not to look at Elvira's face.
He entertains Elvira's maid (Madeline Tickner) with his madolin.

Here is Masetto with his chums, ready to kill Giovanni with their horticultural tools (the man using bare fists is Ken Hurford).
But the well disguised Giovanni sends them on a wild goose chase.

Take that for the pistol!
Where does it hurt?

Much better now!
Having realised that Don Giovanni and Leporello have swapped clothing, they know now who the guilty party is.

Here's Ottavio in full flow.
That wretch tricked me again!

Finally Anna and Ottavio are to be married.
Sadly, I have no pictures the last section.

Here is the Commedatore (Mike Taylor) offstage though.

I took a few photos from the earlier part of  the other dress rehearsal as well.

Here's Don Giovanni (Donald Kaye) looking over the mortally wounded Commendatore (Bernhard Credé).
Here's Don Ottavio (Jon Meredith) and Donna Anna (Claire Marsden)

Here's Leporello and Dona Elvira (Sue Lowry)
That list again.
Here's Zerlina (Clasrissa Dunn) and Masetto (Nigel Oram).
Here are some merry picnicers.

Joining the picnic are the sprites (Elanor Davidson and Kelisha Sheppard).
Here is the director (Vicci Mitchell Luker), the music director (Aland Reddish) and the orchestra leader (Evelyn Chadwick).
