THE CAST OF 'CENDRILLON'

For those playing parts which were double cast, I have written a letter A if they played their parts of the first night, or a B if they were in the other cast.

Pandolfe A (David Rose) is beginning to regret his second marriage, to 'Madamme'.
Pandolfe B (Geoff Horwood) does likewise.
Madamme de la Haltière A (Elaine Watts) and her daughters, the ugly sisters Noemie A (Suzanne Lowry) and Dorathea A (Breda McKinney), begin choosing their outfits for the ball. The butler is Tony Dutton.
However Madamme thinks that there's little harm in going some deportment exercises first.

I hate the sound of that word, 'deportment'.

This time it's the B cast. Madamme is played by Jo Parton, same Noemie and Dorathea by Heather Exley.
They've finally chosen their attire. How those tongues will wag!

Lucette ,a.k.a. Cinderella, A (Sara Clark) stays at home to do some sewing and is sad.

This is a photo with clicking on.
Another shot of the same scene.

This time it's Cinderella B (Claire Marsden).
She doesn't look very happy.

But who should then show up? It's the fairy godmother A (Asuka Kurogi).
Followed by many more fairies (Dilly Bellingham, Lily Claridge, Rebecca Harman, Jennifer Luca, Helen Sheppard & Lisa Simon).

This it's the other fairy godmother (B, Hilary Pearce).
Lo and behold! Cinders is now a princess!

Hmm, smart shoes!
Another princess is born!

The maid (Asuka Kurogi) is unhappy with the gardeners (Brian Godfrey & Tony Dutton).
The Master of Ceremonies (me) tries to gee up Prince Charming B (Natasha Dobie) about the ball tonight.
The Dean (Matt Connolly) tries to the same thing in his rather doddery unorthodox latin style
Amnd on comes the First Minister (David Banbury). "By royal decree it must befall that you find pleasure at the ball!"

The Prince A (Adrienne Walters), alone, moans about how difficult it is to find a woman with a pure heart.
There are no photos from the ball section. Madamme and her daughters are outraged about the gatecrasher with whom the Prince seemed to be taken...
Pandolfe is less so.

"But you exaggerate!", he says.
Don't pay attention to those meanies!

From the long rejection song that follows.
Now the dream sequence. In which Cinderella and The Prince sing to each other but are separated by a hedge.

Although Cinderlla is old enough to be interested in boys, she's not too old for a bedtime story.
So, it was just a dream :-(.

Oh! Where did these maids come from?
Well, they're give me a headache!

They're a bit early with the confetti.

That's it as far as the action shots are concerned. No photos taken of the final scene when it is found that Cinderlla's foot fits into the glass slipper.

Here are three of many dancers who came on during the ball sequence (they're sort of supposed prospective suitors).
Here are some of Madamme's maids (Hilary Pearce, Madeleine Tickner, Heather Exley & Carey Chapman).

And some more maids (Dilly Belligham, Breda McKinney & Carey again)
Here are some smartly-dressed chaps ,though mostly as manservants (Tony Dutton, Brian Godfrey, that chap who appears a lot on this site, Natasha Dobie & Matt Connolly)

Here are sopme fine ladies dressed for the ball (Asuka Kurogi, Hilary Pearce and Carey Chapman).
More ball guests. The King is in the centre (Mike Taylor), with Ken Hurford and Madeleine Tickner.

And one very special ball guest (Chinwe Odukwe).
Pandolfe is ready for the ball.

Come along now, dear!
Here are the sprites.

And the drabbly dressed princesses.
In the first scene I played a shoe-shiner, not a happy shoe-shiner.

Here's Madamme with her husabnd and daughters.
A sweet picvture of Cinderalla and her father.

The ladies in their dressing gowns.
The ugly sisters wearing tiaras.

What silly hats!
The Prince, the King and the Minister.

The MC and his mistress (?)
That's quite a buttonhole!

Here's the fairy!
Last but not least, here's The Herald (Ken Hurford).

This photo was taken after the dress rehearsal. A decision was made that during the show proper he should wear white tie instead. In my opinion, that was the wriong decision!
