THE FRIENDS PAGE

Here are photos some of my friends.

There are quite a few here. I am no longer in touch with many of them, but I guess that's inevitable.

Here are some people who also studied at Highgate School

From left to right

Andrew Davenport, Philip Alexander, Charlie Chen, Darius Grigg and Niall Sweby.

Andy main interests are opera, golf and football. Phil is also keen on football. Darius does not like football at all; he now lives in Spain. Charlie worked at Price Waterhouse Coopers a few years ago, but, like everyone else I know who worked there, he quit. Niall used likes clubbing, 'industrial' rock bands and roleplaying games

Here's Niall again, and my brother David, dressed as schoolmasters.

On the left is, Zoe Sorkin (a.k.a. 'Laut'). She studied English literature at the University of Cantrebury and now works at the bookshop 'Ripping Yarns'. I received an unexpected marriage proposal from her in 1997. I appepted, though not a lot has happened since.

With her in this photo are her former schoolfriends: Emma McCarthy and Sara Raafat. They liked school so much that they kept the uniform!

Simon Walker with his son, Sean. Simon studied History at Cambridge. he now lives in Cambridge and works in London as a lawyer.

He also has two daughters

On the left here is Helen.

The man just inside the house is Nick Newport. He studied history at Manchester University before working at Standard Chartered Bank.

Once again, Sean is not smiling . In the Santa Claus costume is Simon's second daughter, Anastasia.

I'm, looking very bad in this photo.

Some friends from Manchester University.

From left to right: Tom Baggs, Nick Brown, Ed Rowland and Ben 'Jarmen' Ling.

Tom comes from Aberyswith in Wales. He is recently completed a law conversion course, those his real talents are in serving coffee.

Nick is a mathematician and is studying Poiseille flow (that's laminar flow in viscous fluids) . He is very good at football and cricket.

Ed used to work at a Disney office in Hammersmith, London, doing the bare necessities (ha-ha). He now works for a bank called HSC (I think) in Windsor. He has recently become interested in Gilbert and Sullivan operas, and was in Princess Ida.

Here's a better photo of Jarmen, with Zena.
Here I am in The Grandby pub on the evening of graduation day. I've been spilling beer on my shirt.

Sitting woth me are, from left to right Ed (again), Dave Onley, Hitesh Patel (two more maths graduates). The man behind me wiggling his tongue is Simon Howlett (another mathematician).

The man with the Kirk Douglas hairstyle is Adam Watson.

Adam comes from Middlesborough. He is currently living in Farnham in Surrey where he works for an IT firm named FlourGS. ALthough he likes rock music, he doesn't like any of the bands that I like, and is only too keen to make me aware of that!

Here's Richard Davis (a.k.a. Mavis) giving Ed a kiss.

Mavis is another maths graduate and comes from Oxford. He is a very keen supporter of Manchester Utd football club (nothing unusual about that these days).

Here's Matt Smith (a.k.a. 'Smithy). He comes from Nottingham and supports Nottingham Forest.

He recently finished a very complicated maths PhD at Manchester involving matrices (yuck!). He won a prize in May 2001 for his work up until that part, and managed to finished it within 3 years (or very nearly did).

Paul Belleville and his sister, Nicole.

They come from Edinburgh. Paul also studied Maths before working for BT at Adastral park, Ipswich. He still visits Manchester frequently to watch a certain red and white and white football team play.

On the left is Neil Chatterjee.

Neil works as an optician in Manchester. He likes fast cars, computer games and 'drum and bass' music.

The man in the foreground is Nathan Jones, from Leicester.

The man on the left drinking cider is Will Rowe. (probably  finished by now).

The man on the left is Andrew B, a mathematician has been studying for a PhD at the University of Sussex...... but might not be anymore?

These two guys, David MacCoy and Chris Jones also studied physics (and drinking) at Manchester.

And here's Rosemary Wilkins, drinking cider with me.

Here are some people I lived with at Whitworth Park halls of residence in my final year, some of whom are holding invisible beverage glasses.

From left to right: Liz Parnham, Greg Philpott, Russell James, Lim Hsaing, me and Frankie Chin.
